Reena Mehta College supports students preparing for NIOS Std X and XII exams. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), established in 1990 by the Government of India, is a national board offering flexible education for diverse learners. It provides students with the opportunity to complete their education outside the conventional schooling system.

NIOS offers its own curriculum and assessments. A successful completion of these exams grants certificates equivalent to the traditional Std. X and XII qualifications, making students eligible for further studies and college admissions.

Reena Mehta College introduced NIOS Std. X in 2015 and Std. XII in 2016, becoming one of the few colleges in Mumbai to offer this alternative academic path.

Over time, students from various institutions have enrolled in the NIOS section at Reena Mehta College. With a practical and relevant curriculum, the NIOS programme gives students a second chance to succeed and prepares them academically for future opportunities.

Eligibility Criteria

• Std. X: Must have passed Std. VIII and be 14 years of age by July 31 of the academic year.
• Std. XII: Must have passed Std. X and be 15 years of age by July 31 of the academic year.
